AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS

Groundswell’s afterschool programs offer structured out-of-school time for young people aged 14 to 21. Each program is led by a team of professional artists and encourages leadership and skill development through a collaborative public artmaking experience. Our afterschool programs are designed so that teens can participate in one program multiple times or move through multiple programs to more advanced work with us.

    A men's leadership development program for exceptional young men, some of whom have a history in the juvenile justice system.

    A pre-professional training opportunity for youth artists interested in pursuing a fine arts degree.

    A special program for graduates of TurnStyle to develop the skills needed to transition into our afterschool and summer programs. 

  • Teen Empowerment Mural Apprenticeship (TEMA)

    An afterschool apprenticeship program for youth interested in developing art and leadership skills.

    An alternative detention program for youth arrested for minor offenses.
