Dreaded Atlantic Avenue underpass gets a paintjob

Brownsville receives grant for public art mural along Pitkin Avenue

NEA to Grant $100,000 to NYC’s Groundswell for Youth to Paint Murals
The National Endowment for the Arts just announced that it will award 59 grants in this year’s iteration of its Our Town program. Groundswell, the only awardee in New York City, will get $100,000 in grant money to support “Transform/Restore: Brownsville."

Four Murals Coming to Brooklyn This Summer
Groundswell is embarking on a public mural project this summer. Through a summer leadership program, youth artists ages 14 to 24 will create eight public art works across New York City, four of which are located in Brooklyn.
