Groundswell's Art Auction is live! Only one more week to remaining to bid on your favorite works, including works by Nils Folke Anderson, Kenny Scharf, Thomas Loof, Pernille Loof and many more.
This week we feature a delicate ephemeral work by artist Alexandra Posen, who uses fabric and color in innovative ways. Posen, a co-founder of design house Zac Posen, translates fabric and technique into a unique formal language.
Brooklyn-based artist Chitra Ganesh, explores ideas of femininity, empowerment and multiplicity in her work, featured here. Ganesh, fresh off her recent solo exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum, uses iconography, mythology, literature and popular culture to bring light to feminist and queer narratives.
The auction also features work by Molly Crabapple. Called "An emblem of the way art can break out of the gilded gallery" by the New Republic, Crabapple has drawn in Guantanamo Bay, Abu Dhabi's migrant labor camps, and with rebels in Syria.
Artist Swoon contributes a a pencil and ink drawing from her sketches from Haiti.
