As Groundswell launches the online preview of our 17th Annual Art Auction Benefit, an incredible array of artists has come out to join our celebration at the iconic Christie's at Rockefeller Center.
Visual raconteurs José and Rey Parlá. Abstract Expressionist sculptor Mark di Suvero. Artist / geographer (and Black Ops investigator) Trevor Paglen.
A few of these artists will take part this year by providing a one-of-a-kind experience. These artists include this year's honoree, acclaimed street artist Swoon.
Best known for her intricately cut, life-sized portraits, Swoon's work can be seen on streets and abandoned buildings around the world. Her work can also be found in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Brooklyn Museum; world-class fine art gallery exhibitions; even afloat on the Mississippi and Hudson rivers.
During the live auction, don't miss your chance to bid on an exclusive studio tour with Swoon, packaged with a luxurious meal with the artist at Brooklyn's Home/Made restaurant.
This experience is all the more meaningful, as Swoon collaborates with Groundswell teen artists to create a series of murals promoting healing and recovery in NYC communities deeply impacted by Superstorm Sandy, in anticipation of the one-year anniversary of this devastating storm.
Learn more about this exceptional opportunity, and view a sneak preview of Groundswell's auction (hosted by Paddle8), here. Online bidding begins September 23 at 10am EST.
With just two weeks left until the big event, we also encourage you to purchase your tickets now.
