The Wait is OVER!

That's right... as of today at noon the wait is over to start bidding on some of the amazing pieces featured this year at Groundswell's Annual Art Auction Benefit!

This week's featured artist is Abdul Mati Klarwein, best known for his work on the covers of several legendary music albums, including "Bitches Brew" by Miles Davis.

After fleeing his hometown of Hamburg at the age of two to escape the rise and oppression of the Nazi Party in Germany, Klarwein spent time living in Palestine, Paris, Majorca, and New York City. A well-traveled artist, his interest in non-Western deities and symbolism has greatly inspired much of his work.

He self-identified as being "...only half German and only half Jewish with an Arab soul and an African heart." He is well known for his commissioned portraits including those of Brigitte Bardot, Leonard Bernstein, Richard Gere, Gerlandine Chapman, and many more.

Klarwein's family has donated a 1993 pencil drawing titled "Getty Girl," an original sketch for a portrait of 1970's "it girls" the Getty Twins.

Place your bid on "Getty Girl" now in Groundswell's online auction (hosted by Paddle8), hereOnline bidding on this will be available from 12pm EST today and will continue until the day of the event.

And, of course, if you haven't already, purchase your tickets now.
